Dana began her career in animal care as a Lead Veterinary Technician at the North Peninsula Humane Society from 1998 to 2000. During this time, she witnessed firsthand the importance of basic pet care on a broader, community-wide level.

From there, Dana transitioned to emergency veterinary care, serving as a
Senior Veterinary Technician at North Peninsula Veterinary Emergency
from 2000 to 2002. Between 2002 and 2005, she worked with a Sacramento-area veterinary corporation
specializing in veterinary dentistry, gaining advanced experience in
oral health for companion animals.

In 2005, Dana and her husband Alex co-founded A Purrfect Groomer. After operating a successful brick-and-mortar salon for 10 years, they
took their grooming services on the road with a custom mobile grooming
van—bringing the same exceptional care and attention directly to their clients.

Dana’s impact on the industry expanded in 2016 when she joined the Intellectual Groomers Association (IGA) as a founding member and feline grooming expert. She traveled the country giving seminars, certifying groomers, and writing the very guidelines still used today for feline grooming certification.

In 2018, Dana was brought on by Andis as a feline grooming educator. She tours the country delivering live demos and presentations on feline grooming techniques and the benefits of using Andis tools.

In 2021, Dana published her first book, Meow Wow: The Complete Guide to Feline Grooming, which was met with great reviews and continues to sell out at trade shows across the U.S.

Her contributions to the grooming industry have been formally recognized with TWO Barkleigh Honors nominations:

• 2022 Barkleigh Honor Nominee – Speaker of the Year
• 2023 Barkleigh Honor Nominee – Book of the Year
  for Meow Wow

Notable Accomplishments:

• 2022: Became an official Romani Ambassador, educating groomers on the proper use and benefits of Romani tools.
• 2022: Welcomed two Selkirk Rex cats into her family, who now travel with Dana and serve as her feline grooming demonstration models.
• 2024: Named feline ambassador for UTSUMI team, a renowned grooming tool company.
• 2024: Proudly joined Lukoluko as a brand ambassador for their handmade luxury collars.
• 2024: Became a Pet Store Direct Affiliate, promoting only her favorite professional grooming products and tools.
• 2024: Partnered with LickiMat as a collaborator, showcasing their innovative enrichment mats for feline wellness.
